What if you could become someone else, just for a little while?

Not in a “I need witness protection” kind of way, but in a soul expansion kind of way. A conscious choice to channel another version of yourself. A creative expression of an energy within you that’s just been waiting for permission to speak.

That’s what happened when I created my pseudonym: Nathaniel Theos.

What’s in a Name?

Let’s break it down:
Nathaniel means “Gift of God.”
Theos is the ancient Greek word for God or the Divine.

Put it together and you get:
“Gift of the Divine”, a name that carries both reverence and play.
Not bad for a guy who writes cyber-thrillers and government conspiracies, hey?

But more than the literal meaning, Nathaniel Theos represents a freer, more daring aspect of me. A part that still speaks truth, but with a sharper edge. That still loves a story, but wrapped in adrenaline, shadows, and secrets. He’s me, but with the dial turned up, and the rules rewritten.

The Joy of Creation (and Collaboration)

Creating and working with Nathaniel Theos has been one of the most unexpectedly joyful chapters in my creative journey.

When I write as Neil Thrussell, I lean into heart-based leadership, spiritual adventure, and the sacred dance of the Shin Dao.
When I write as Nathaniel Theos, I step into the world of espionage, rebellion, and techno-spiritual warfare.
Same soul. Different voice.

I get to co-create with myself. To explore edges and archetypes I might otherwise hold back. And in doing so, I feel more whole.

There’s something deeply freeing about that.

It’s not about hiding. It’s about revealing more of who I am, without worrying if it fits neatly in one lane.

The Power of Persona

A pseudonym isn’t a mask—it’s a mirror. It reflects a version of ourselves we haven’t fully lived out yet.

Through Nathaniel, I don’t have to ask permission to write grittily. I don’t have to apologize for pushing the edge. He lets me wear a new cloak, walk in different shoes, speak with a different cadence—and that is wildly fun.

He reminds me that we can all create alter egos that amplify our hidden gifts.

And thanks to tools like ChatGPT, I can even see myself in these personas:

All without needing to raid a costume shop or explain myself to curious neighbours.

What About You?

What if you created your persona?

What name would you choose?
What qualities would you embody more fully?
What stories would you finally tell?

Whether it’s a pen name, a stage name, or just a nickname for the version of you that dreams bigger, give it life.

Give yourself permission to become… more.

Final Thought

Nathaniel Theos isn’t just a name, he’s an invitation.

To write boldly. To live creatively. To remember that you are not just one thing. You’re a multi-dimensional being with layers of expression waiting to come alive.

So go ahead—name that voice within you.
Dress it up. Speak through it.
Create through it.

And watch what kind of magic unfolds when you stop asking “Who am I allowed to be?” and start answering…
“Who do I desire to become?”
